Monitoring of Infrastructure and IBM ELM

The main purpose of deploying monitoring in your infrastructure is to improve the response to borderline situations that can lead to outages or system congestion. Based on the triggers set by us, you can react to borderline situations in a very short time.

Selected borderline situations include:

- memory usage exceeding 80%

- unavailability of registered applications within the IBM Jazz platform

- expiration of SSL certificates

Monitoring is provided by Zabbix and Grafana software. The main task of Zabbix is to collect data from monitored devices and Grafana, as a visualization tool, serves to visualize collected data in an understandable form. Different types of graphs, diagrams and display windows can be created in the dashboard.

From the point of view of system parameters, we monitor:

- space utilization

- CPU utilization

- RAM utilization

- connectivity to servers

- backups that run daily or weekly

From the perspective of IBM Jazz, we can monitor for example:

- availability of registered applications

- validity of licenses

Other monitoring options include:

- monitoring of SSL certificates

- monitoring of web pages and web communication
